THE HOUSE METHOD

Someone spent years writing down how your firm actually does the work

Standard operating procedures, onboarding material, internal playbooks and the accumulated house view on recurring problems. Codified method is unusually scarce material, because most firms never write theirs down at all.

HOW IT RUNS

Scope agreed first, nothing touched in the meantime

  1. 01

    Six questions

What does the business run on? Two minutes, nothing accessed, nothing shared yet.

  2. 02

    We review before pricing

We look at the record first. Depth and how much visible reasoning it contains move the number far more than volume.

  3. 03

    Terms inside a week

Agreed and papered within a week of that first conversation. Typically $100K to $2M.

  4. 04

    Paid on completion

Net 30 to 60, once the data has been approved, shared, and anonymized.

WHERE METHOD ACCUMULATES

Four places a firm's way of working gets written down

None of this was created to be sold. It exists because someone needed the next person to be able to do the job.

Procedures and checklists

The step-by-step version of recurring work, along with the notes about what to watch for at each stage.

Onboarding and training

Material written to bring someone from nothing to competent, which forces assumptions into the open.

Internal guidance

The house view on questions that keep coming up, and the reasoning that settled each one.

Templates and precedents

Reusable artefacts with the commentary about when to use them and when not to.

QUESTIONS ABOUT METHOD

What firms ask about their own playbooks

Is our method not our competitive advantage?

It is, and licensing it does not hand it to a competitor. The data is anonymized and built into data sets for AI labs. Nothing is listed, and we do not disclose which labs take which material.

Ours is messy and half-finished. Does that matter?

Rarely. Half-written procedure with the reasoning attached is often better material than a polished handbook that states conclusions only.

Do we keep using it afterwards?

Yes. A licence is a permission, not a sale. You keep the business and you keep ownership of the underlying material.

What is it worth?

Deals typically land between $100K and $2M paid to the company, with no fee and no commission taken out.
